Lately, we’ve been getting HEAPS of queries about paid parental leave.

A lot of you seem to be confused about whether you have to offer your employees paid parental leave now.

Quite frankly, I’m confused as well!

With all the attention paid parental leave has been getting in the news lately, you’d certainly be forgiven for thinking it had already been introduced. I’m sure many of your employees have thought this too – they may have even approached you about it!

But here’s the long and short of it: You don’t have to worry about paid parental leave yet. The federal government has announced that a national paid parental leave scheme will not be brought in until January 2011.

And when it is introduced, it will be fully funded by the government. So you won’t have to worry about paying it from your own pocket.
