What can we do when we have no work for an employee returning from leave?

Q: One of our permanent part-time staff members has been off work for several months due to an injury. Her expected return to work will coincide with the workplace closing for 3 months for building refurbishment. The employee’s role cannot be performed remotely, so we will not require her during the refurbishment. How do we handle this situation? Is redundancy our only solution?
