Q
I am having trouble finding information about what to do if a boss is the bully in a workplace… I once worked somewhere where the sole director was and continues to be the main source of bullying.

What course of action is available to an employee where there is no HR department and they are unable to speak with the perpetrator in fear of losing their job because the perpetrator is the boss?

A
If there is no company policy setting out the process for raising complaints and grievances (bullying, discrimination, etc.) you should approach an external agency such as the Fair Work Commission or the safety regulator or the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission for discrimination. You have legal protections if you are harmed in your employment for making these queries or complaints.
