The Case

Brett Steed v Active Crane Hire Pty Ltd (2023)

Active Crane Hire Pty Ltd (Active) employed Mr Steed as a crane driver. Active summarily dismissed Mr Steed from his employment when he was found asleep in his truck. Mr Steed alleged he was resting and unable to work due to bad weather. Mr Steed commenced unfair dismissal proceedings in the Fair Work Commission (FWC).
