Ceremonial leave enables Indigenous Australians to attend ceremonies of cultural significance.

Who is entitled to ceremonial leave?
National system employees don’t have a general statutory entitlement to ceremonial leave under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth). However, the entitlement to paid or unpaid ceremonial leave may be provided in:
- a modern award;
- an enterprise agreement;
- an employment contract; or
- a workplace policy.
